My predictions for Man United’s 26/27 season | Opinion

Portuguese Portugal

I’m here today to make my prediction for the 26/27 season of Man United, which starts very soon.

I want to make one point very clear beforehand: I understand Carrick staying and I think he deserved it, but I would have preferred another option. I think we could be close to seeing United make the same mistake again, which is to “fall in love” with a more ‘firefighter’ manager who solved things in half a season, instead of a manager for a project with massive investment and for the future.

In terms of signings, I think they still needed to sign a full-back, either left or right, but a full-back. I do not trust Dalot, I think he is limited. Mazraoui is good, but not top level. Luke Shaw should have left earlier, but he actually had a good 25/26 season, and Dorgu simply cannot be seen as a full-back.

As for midfield, I think they have recruited well and it is solid. I do not think anything else is needed and the team is ready to compete for a Champions League spot.

You may ask: what about the title? I do not know, I think it is too much for now. I think thinking about that would be putting the cart before the horse.

Man United will play 4 competitions this season and I’ll tell you now where I think they will finish or at what stage they will be eliminated:

Premier League → 3rd place
FA Cup → Quarter-finals
Carabao Cup → Semi-finals
Champions League → Round of 16

Conclusion

This is my prediction for Man United’s season. I think they will finish without any trophies, but it is one step at a time. The team is better, but with far more competitions, and that is why I have predicted it this way.
