My predictions for Arsenal’s 26/27 season | Opinion

Portuguese Portugal

My prediction for the 2026/27 season of Arsenal is here and, honestly, I’ll be direct: I think this is the first time I can remember Arsenal not being at Manchester City’s level, but actually being above them. I think this Premier League has an expected champion, a bigger favourite, and that club is Arsenal. No disrespect to the other clubs, but who is going to compete with an Arsenal side that is getting more and more solid, even with clear problems?

The City lost Guardiola, United still have to get used to playing so many competitions again, Liverpool are still trying to find themselves, Chelsea can do something because they have fewer competitions, but I still think they’re a raw project, and Tottenham can’t be included in these conversations yet.

Regarding Arsenal’s transfers, I think they were insufficient for what I felt the team needed. Like, continuing with Gyökeres as your starting striker and not having a back-up for him raises doubts for me. The loss of Trossard, that left-wing position that will have Tzolis and Martinelli. The midfield is probably the best midfield in the Premier League, the centre-back pairing is incredible, the full-backs are still good enough, although you can’t rely on White, and Saka has to take the leading role.

So, it’s clear that Arsenal’s team is very strong, the best in England, but there are players who have to raise their level and get back to the top: Odegaard and Saka.

With that, my prediction is:

Premier League → 🏆 Champions
FA Cup → Round of 16
Carabao Cup → 🏆 Champions
Champions League → Semi-finals
Community Shield → 🏆 Champions

Conclusion

I think Arsenal will finish the season with two or three trophies, being the Premier League, Community Shield and maybe a domestic cup, like the Carabao. The Champions League, I don’t know, because the defensive solidity is there, but, once again, what about offensively? That’s where the problem is, and the problem seems to remain.
